About the author

Margaret Larden graduated from the Nursery School Teachers’ College in Sydney. Under the leadership of Joan Fry OBE, the College established a reputation as one of Australia’s pioneering institutions in Early Childhood Education before amalgamating with Macquarie University.

Margaret has had a lifetime passion for helping children to flourish and reach their full potential. She was inspired by the specialized education she received on the fundamental practices of early childhood education, including the Montessori philosophy and techniques.

Successful implementation of these practices requires a thorough understanding of each stage of Child Development and curriculum areas and a keen awareness of each child’s unique skills and abilities. This knowledge enables tailored teaching methods that cater to individual needs. Margaret has taught in Australia, the United States, and as a volunteer teacher at an orphanage in the Philippines.

Margaret draws widely on her teaching experience and expertise to inform the methodologies expounded in this book. She is the proud mother of two adult children, who enjoy successful international careers. Her hobbies and interests include reading, gardening, theater, music, and photography.
